Marie started the evening reading the opening page of The Midnight Star, which begins with a dream inspired by a nightmare her husband had, which was as terrifying as you imagine it to be. Her original pitch for The Young Elites trilogy focused on characters that later became secondary to Adelina's journey to becoming a villain. Luckily Adelina stuck around and took the main stage, even if she was the toughest character for Marie to write.
For all the fans waiting for movies, The Young Elites is being written by the screenwriter who writes for AHS & Nerve (yes!).— Christy Jane (@diamondxgirl) October 20, 2016
Up next for Marie Lu are two exciting projects in for the YA world. Not only is she part of the four book DC Comics series we referenced in the People of Marvel event, she's also writing Warcross, a sci-fi duology set ten years from now. Yeah, we need them both like, now.
Marie Lu gets to explore angsty Bruce Wayne, trust fund bad boy. 🙋 I need this now.— Christy Jane (@diamondxgirl) October 20, 2016
