While writing CLANLESS did you have an inspiration board and/or did you have a soundtrack that you listened to?
I love using Pinterest to build inspiration boards and have one for every book that I’ve ever conceptualized or written. It’s actually a great pre-writing tool because I find it helps me generates ideas while plotting, paint mental pictures of characters, develop setting, etc. I find I go back and reference my board constantly while drafting. My board for Nameless is https://www.pinterest.com/jenhistory/nameless/ if you want to take a gander.Yes! I have some great noise canceling headphones I use while I write. I LOVE writing to film scores such as Brave Heart, The Last of the Mohicans, Far from the Madding Crowd (a new one for me that I fell in love with while writing CLANLESS!), and Lord of the Rings, to name a few.I don’t do well writing with lyrics rolling around in my head, but listening to these scores inspires me and helps me consider the epic nature of a good story.
Thank you so much for having me on the blog. I’m a big fan of Tales of the Ravenous Reader! Your suggestion on getting the audio book for MY LADY JANE will never be overlooked. That was probably one of my favorite books I’ve ever listened to. You know your stuff!!

Striker Gryphon has lost his position of honor among the Ram, and is now a hunted man. A traitor.
Zo, the object of his affection, was murdered by members of his former clan. To honor her memory, he journeys to the highly secretive Raven “Nest” to warn strangers of their impending demise—though it could cost him more than just his pride.
He doesn’t know that Zo is very much alive and in another part of the region assisting Nameless refugees over a mountain swarming with wild men known as “Clanless.”
As each struggle to make sense of what their lives have become, they fight and claw to reach the Allied Camp, their last hope in bringing peace to the region.
But the road back to one another is treacherous and uncertain. And freedom will come with a price.
