The Beauty of Darkness Blog Tour

When I initially received my email to partake in The Beauty of Darkness Blog Tour I could not believe it. I have been a fan of this series from the very beginning and am a mixed bag of beans for emotions in regards to this being the end of this marvelous series. I adore Mary and this series so very much and I am happy to be a part of this tour and to help spread the love. I remember that when I initially read Kiss of Deception I was floored by how amazing it was. I had to tell everyone about it. I loved how it kept me on tender hooks, suspended in that world, not knowing who was there to kill Lia and who was there to settle a different type of score. I love this series to pieces and am sad to see it end but am oh so eager to knowing how it will all end. In the meantime I had the opportunity to ask Mary a few questions about Rafe. Oh I tried and tried to get a nugget of information from her but she is much smarter than me and thwarted my numerous attempts for a little more information.

Lia and Rafe have escaped Venda and the path before them is winding and dangerous - what will happen now? This third and final book in The Remnant Chronicles is not to be missed.

Kiss of Deception Book one in the Remnant Chronicles and The Heart of Betrayal Book Two

Is there anything that Rafe regrets?
Many things. But he is not one to dwell overly much on past mistakes. He tries to move forward. He is a problem solver, but he is worried about Lia, and more than a bit concerned about being MIA from his kingdom for so long.  Not a good thing for the heir apparent. He knows he’s in for a lot of grief from his father and the court, if and when he returns.

What is the one thing that he would change?
If he had a do-over, he wouldn’t have ignored Lia’s note. He wouldn’t have let his own ego get in the way. He would have thought more about the girl who wrote it and why she wrote it. In a nutshell he wishes he would have answered the darn note, no matter how arrogant it might have seemed at the time. A simple reply might have solved a lot of problems.

If Rafe could say anything to Kaden, anything at all, what would it be?
“Back off, but thank you for saving her life.” (They have a history and are both still working out the finer points of communication.)

What does Rafe envision for his future in the next 5, 10, 20 years?
Now that would be a spoiler, wouldn’t it? Nice try ; ) How about if I go with the next 5, 10, 20 minutes? The answer would be: Stay alive. At the end of The Heart of Betrayal, he was carrying the badly injured Lia through snowy woods without any provisions. After their harrowing spill in the river, he was injured and weak himself, and it was a long way to Dalbreck.  Survival is all he is thinking about for his and Lia’s future. If they do somehow make it home, he hopes that one day when he becomes king, that Lia will be at his side and she will come to love Dalbreck as much as he does.

Thanks for asking about Rafe, Nancy and Christy! You’ll be hearing a lot more from him in The Beauty of Darkness--and all those “future” questions will be answered. And maybe he’ll share a few more regrets with you too.
