Giveaway! ICYMI: We Celebrated Pride Month and Read Proud Listen Proud!

Thanks to everyone who tuned in this week to celebrate Pride Month and Read Proud Listen Proud! We were so thrilled to share some of our favorite reads and resources with you.

On Monday, we shared our thoughts about David Levithan and Nina Lacour's latest, You Know Me Well. In case you needed more convincing, our recap of their launch event gives you background on how they came to write You Know Me Well! We learned all about Kevin, an up and coming gay writer who is writing the gay rom-com of your dreams! On display were a few of our favorite books featuring LGBTQ+ characters, as well as more recommendations, pride playlists, and more! Oh, and if you haven't checked out the new YA non-fiction novel by Jazz Jennings, Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen, let us tell you why you should! And if the celebration wasn't great enough, Libba Bray posted this beautiful piece of writing yesterday. *sniff*

Bringing appropriate representation to our LGBTQ+ community is an ongoing process and we encourage you to follow We Need Diverse Books, a grassroots organization that advocates for diverse representation in children's and young adult books. Talk to your friends about the great books you're reading and thank authors for being aware of including a variety of characters appropriately. Request these books at your local library! Go forth and sing their praises. Thanks for being here with us this week!

One last celebration...A giveaway! Yesterday, we reviewed Being Jazz and hope you all will read it! Here's your chance to win a copy plus some awesome swag.
