The fifth book in the New York Times new adult series that began with Real. When an angry, heartbroken girl is forced to be near her rocker ex-boyfriend, only time will tell if the fire between them will consume them both.

Pandora, the gothic friend of Brooke (Real, Mine, Remy) and Melanie, thought that getting her heart broken by her bad boy rocker ex could only happen once. But now, he's back in town with the biggest concert of the year. Pandora hates him so much that she gets Melanie to come with her and play a prank on him at his gig. But when they are caught by security, and her ex himself is summoned, he decides not to press charges if she'll follow certain conditions. Pandora likes none of his rules, or that he's in charge of her, especially since they seem designed to make sure she's in close contact with him again. But the closeness reignites the passion they once shared, and soon no matter how much she wants to hate him, it's clear she's still hung up on him. And worse: he knows it too.

My Thoughts:

Once I read the REAL series by Katy Evans last year I became an instant admirer. It was one of the few NA series that I decided to read and I could not get enough of this world and it's characters. Especially, Pandora. She did not have major role in the earlier novels but her presence was not forgotten. So, when I heard about Pandora getting her own story I was instantly intrigued and could not wait until RIPPED was in my hands.

RIPPED gets right into the nitty gritty of things with Pandora seeking revenge against a hated ex MacKenna, who is now a bonified rock star. She enlists in some help from her friend Melanie but things go fantasically wrong and in order to elude some jail time she is forced to make a deal with the devil. What then happens is road trips down memory lane, truths coming to light and long denied romance finally getting a second chance.

From the moment Pandora executed her revenge I was in for the ride. Her spunky attitude had me in stitches but the truth behind her caustic nature comes to light and with it a story that just broke my heart. I then could relate to her bitterness and I truly wanted to know what transpired between her and MacKenna a few years before. I could not seem to get enough of their interactions and I wanted them to reach that place of understanding but it was a long and difficult road but so worth the wait.

For fans of this series RIPPED is not to be missed although it is not my favorite read of the series it does provide a few hours of book candy reading.
