Fifty years ago The Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society.

To punish the guilty, he created the Hole, a place where sinners are branded according to their sins. Sinners are forced to live a less than human existence in deplorable conditions, under the watchful eye of guards who are ready to kill anyone who steps out of line.

Now, LUST wraps around my neck like thick, blue fingers, threatening to choke the life out of me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit, and the Hole is my new home.

Constant darkness.

Brutal and savage violence.

Excruciating pain.

Every day is a fight for survival.

But I won’t let them win. I will not die in the Hole.

I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter. My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

My Thoughts:

I am kicking myself for all kinds of stupid for not reading this book sooner, but better later than never because BRANDED by Abi Ketner & Missy Kalicicki is beyond anything I could have ever expected.

Right from the beginning you are thrown into a stark and bleak world as you witness Lexy Hamilton, this story's female lead, on the run to escape from being branded a whore. You see in Lexy's world the sinners accused are branded with their sins for the entire world to see and then they are sentenced to live the rest of their days in the Hole. Unfortunately for Lexy she does not manage to escape her unjust fate but she is determined to survive and not die in the hole.

Abi Ketner & Missy Kalicicki have created this world in BRANDED that is original and oh so dark and oppressing that you can feel the sin of it's total unjustness permeate every page. I was white knuckling it for the majority of this novel. I feared for Lexy and her safety every single moment. I did not know what what happen next and I found that exhilarating. I also enjoyed the fact that a love story was not promoted for this novel but there is a romance of epic proportions that cannot be denied and I ate it all up with the hugest spoon (Hello, Cole). LOVED IT!! Of course it would not be as engaging a story if it didn't have some heart clenching moments, an evil villain of monstrous proportions, and a cast of some of the most memorable characters while being in a world that you would never want to visit. EVER!

It isn't often that a book can completely engage me from the start but right from the very first paragraph this book held me within its pages and did not release me from it's clutches until the very last word. BOOM! I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a nail biting read with constant twists and turns, a lead kick-ass female that you would gladly call your friend and a lead male that you want spider monkey because he is that amazing.
