Game of Thrones meets the Grimm's fairy tales in this twisted, fast-paced romantic fantasy-adventure about Sleeping Beauty's daughter, a warrior princess who must fight to reclaim her throne.

Though she looks like a mere mortal, Princess Aurora is a fairy blessed with enhanced strength, bravery, and mercy yet cursed to destroy the free will of any male who kisses her. Disguised as a boy, she enlists the help of the handsome but also cursed Prince Niklaas to fight legions of evil and free her brother from the ogre queen who stole Aurora's throne ten years ago.

Will Aurora triumph over evil and reach her brother before it's too late? Can Aurora and Niklaas break the curses that will otherwise forever keep them from finding their one true love?

My Thoughts:

I've been a long time fan of Stacey Jay and her books and must say that PRINCESS OF THORNS is my favorite of all of them. This novel had everything that I want for my reading pleasure; romance, intrigue, action and comedic relief. You name it, and this book has it in spades.

From the start I am quickly drawn into this story and it's lead characters Aurora and Niklass. Aurora is full of spunk and she is not afraid getting what she wants even if she has to dress like a boy to get it, while Niklass carries a more desperate edge to his handsome bearing and with good reason. Both have tragic pasts that have brought them together on a quest to find a Princess that might save Niklass from a feathery fate while also saving Aurora's brother from certain death and what ensues is something that fairy tales are made of.

Stacey Jay has created a tale that while at times seems familiar it is also unique and refreshing to witness on the page. I adored how these two characters interacted the constant push and pull that had me on edge waiting for the inevitable show to drop (and you WANT that shoe to drop) Gahhhhh!!! It's so good that you don't want it to stop. Along with these two memorable characters this novel has an entire supporting cast that is just as memorable and you just cannot help falling in love with some of them.

I adored how this story progressed and reached it's ending but I must say that I felt that the last few pages seemed a little rushed but other than that I was left a happy human after reading it.  If your a fan of fairy tales with romance and a bit of comedy and adventure than this book is a definite must read.
