Heartbreaking decisions
Evie was almost seduced by the life of comfort that Death offered her—until Jack was threatened by two of the most horrific Arcana, the Lovers. She will do anything to save him, even escape Death’s uncanny prison, full of beautiful objects, material comforts…and stolen glances from a former love.

Uncertain victory
Despite leaving a part of her heart behind with Death, Evie sets out into a perilous post-apocalyptic wasteland to meet up with her allies and launch an attack on the Lovers. Such formidable enemies require a battle plan, and the only way to kill them may mean Evie, Jack, and Death allying. Evie doesn’t know what will prove more impossible: surviving slavers, plague, Bagmen and other Arcana—or convincing Jack and Death to work together.

Two heroes returned
There’s a thin line between love and hate, and Evie just doesn’t know where she stands with either Jack or Death. Will this unlikely trio be able to defeat The Lovers without killing one another first...?

My Thoughts:

Let me start by saying that Kresley Cole is an evil genius for not only did she have me waiting for what it seemed like an eternity for Dead of Winter but she left me desperate for more.

For those that are fans of this series you know that ENDLESS KNIGHT left us on some serious tender hooks and it led to a plethora of discussions and theories among as to what would happen next. So, I was chomping at the bit to get to what would happen next. Would Evie and death have "relations" or would Jack be doooomed? It doesn't take long to know what happens but you know the consequences of such actions would be crazy and that is what kept me turning the pages (because I am a total Death fan girl) I know it may make you cringe but hey! I have my reasons. Yet, instead of their inevitable reunion resulting in an all battle of testosterone the trio must unite to battle a crazy pair lovers. Evie has her work cut out for her.

I was so happy to return to this world that Kresley Cole has so masterfully created for it is brutal and twisted and I cannot get enough of it. I like how she is able to draw you into the story and despite how disturbing it can get you can't stop reading and you want to know more. Most of this is due to the ever complicated relationship between Evie, Jack and Death. The constant pissing contest between both men is amusing but Evie's dragging decision as to whom she wants to be with can wear you down then when she finally decides to make a choice everything and I mean everything just goes crazy. Love is never easy.

I highly recommend this book and series to anyone that enjoys a good story with great plot and some very twisted characters. I am also glad to say that there are more books in the works and I wish I could read them NOW!! and you will too.
