Some men are just better when they're bold.

Welcome to the Point...

In a dark and broken kingdom, a ruler has to be fearless to control the streets and the ruthless people who run them.

Race Hartman is just bold enough, just smart enough, and just lost enough to wear the crown. Places like the Point will always have bad things and bad people, but the man in control of all that badness can minimize the devastation. Race has a plan, but can he prevent total annihilation without destroying himself?

Brysen Carter has always seen her best friend's brother for what he is--too pretty, too smooth, and way too dangerous to touch. Basking in Race's golden glow is very tempting, but Brysen knows she'd eventually get burned.

When she starts receiving threatening texts and someone tries to take her out in parking lot, the only person interested in keeping her safe is the one man she can't allow herself to have.

Sometimes being bold is the only way to stay alive. But can she let Race save her life . . . if it means losing herself to him?

My Thoughts:

Holy Schmoly Quacamole!!! BETTER WHEN HE IS BOLD! Can Jay Crownover spin a story filled with intrigue, wicked danger and a leading man that is an intelligent, hot, sexy man-god. I am always kicking myself for being late to the New Adult genre but I am glad to be making up for all the lost time especially with authors like Jay and my book boy friend RACE!! Yeah that's right RACE is MINE, ALL MINE.

We are back to the point with Better When He is Bold and the former King of the point has been overruled and in his place is a new dark Prince named Race Hartman. Race, is the best friend to Bax, brother to Dovie and business partner to total bad ass Nassir. He is loyal, wicked smart and knows that he has to stay focused to restore the point and watch his back In order to keep alive and ahead of the game. But once he sees Brysen his focus shifts and he is determined to save her despite her resistance to him.

“This” - he pointed a finger between him and me as he pulled open the car door- "is happening. Maybe not now because it isn’t a good time for you, and maybe not later because I might not be around all that long, but at some point in between, sooner or later, it’s going down. Be ready for it, Brysen."

Brysen, best friend to Dovie, dutiful daughter to ungrateful parents and beloved older sister. She is trying her best to survive while managing a job, college and trying to keep her deteriorating family together but it is more than she can handle. When her world begins to unravel she finds that the only person that can understand what she is going through is Race and despite her resistance he is the one that can keep her safe.

I could not wait to read this story after reading BETTER WHEN HE IS BAD because Race had always intrigued me. He has this presence that when he comes onto the page you cannot help but be drawn to him. He is the reluctant hero, the charmer the brains behind a world of crime and he is sexy as hell. You want him to succeed and that means getting his girl. Which I have to say deserves him in every way. Brysen had a good life and it begins to go horribly bad and it's wonderful to see Race become her savior when in reality she has also saved him. The tension between them is scorching hot and when they come together it's like "DANGER! HIGH VOLTAGE"

Although this story is not as raw and gritty as it's predecessor it still captivates you and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very last word. Fans of this series will not be disappointed.I cannot wait for the story arc to come full circle with Titus' story in BETTER WHEN HE IS BOLD because I am totally in love that cop.
