Novel to Reel: UNREMEMBERED trilogy by Jessica Brody optioned for film

JESSICA BRODY’S UNREMEMBEREDTRILOGY OPTIONED FOR FILM

New York, NY (March 24, 2014)—Reliance Entertainment / Kintop Pictures has acquired the rights to UNREMEMBERED, the first in a trilogy by Jessica Brody published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux Books for Young Readers, animprint of the Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. Deepak Nayar (Vampire Academy,Paranoia, Bend it Like Beckham) and Tabrez Noorani (Zero Dark ThirtyLife of PiSlumdog Millionaire) of Tamasha Talkies and Soumya Sundaresh of Citrusmuse are attached to produce.

UNREMEMBERED, which debuted last March, opens to 16-year-old Seraphina who finds herself floating in the Pacific ocean, following a plane crash, with no memory of her past or present. The sole survivor of the devastating crash, she swiftly becomes the focus of headlines across the globe. As speculation about her identity spreads, Seraphina is forced to piece together her forgotten past with only one clue to her identity – a boy named Zen who claims he helped her escape from a top-secret science experiment conducted by a corporation called Diotech.

The Unremembered Trilogy is set in a world where science knows no boundaries, memories are manipulated, and true love can never be forgotten. The second book in the series, UNFORGOTTEN, is available now with the third and final book in the trilogy to follow in February 2015.

Jessica Brody is the author of seven novels for both teens and adults. Her books have been translated and published in over 20 foreign countries.

Reliance Entertainment and Kintop Pictures, as partner, are producing the Vampire Academy Series and the Graceling Trilogy alongside Tamasha Talkies with Blue Sky Media. Tamasha Talkies is also set to produce the gripping screen adaptation of the book, Spy Princess: The Life of Noor Inayat Khan.
