Evie has fully come into her powers as the tarot Empress, and Jack was there to see it all. As one of twenty-two teens given powers following the apocalypse, she now knows a war is brewing, and it’s kill or be killed. When Evie meets Death, the gorgeous and dangerous Endless Knight, things get even more complicated. Though falling for Jack, she’s drawn to Death as well. Somehow the Empress and Death share a romantic history, one that Evie can’t remember—but Death can’t forget…

My Thoughts:

One of my favorite reads from the last year was POISON PRINCESS by Kresley Cole and I could not wait to read it's next novel ENDLESS KNIGHT. No one could have been more eager than I was for this newest installment and yet I was left wanting.

This novel opens right after the previous novel ends with Evie surrounded by Jack and her Arcana member looking at her in awe and fear. She just killed and man and must come to terms with actions. Yet, she cannot ponder for long because trouble is coming her way and she cannot escape it especially when it's death has his sights set on her.

This story fails to captivate me as it's predecessor. It lacks a bit of the fast pacing and intrigue that I was initially drawn to. I was happy to return to this world for it was original and very wicked and I wanted more but in walks death and all bets are off. I found this distressing because his character intrigued me and at a certain point I was very drawn to him, but a good portion of this novel is spent in his presence and it was a bit slow and boring....until the end when it gets all crazy and WTF!!

I am not sure what fans of this series will think of ENDLESS KNIGHT. I wish I could have liked it more but I missed the characters and situations that dominated the previous novel. This one was just a bit too slow and boring for me yet I do want to know what happens next.  Fans of this series should proceed with caution.
