It has been two years since Violet Eden walked away from the city, her friends, her future and - most importantly - her soulmate, Lincoln. Part angel, part human, Violet is determined to stand by the promises she made to save the one she loves.

Living in the perpetual coldness of a broken soul she survives day to day as a Rogue Grigori in London.

But when an unexpected visitor shows up at her door, the news he bears about someone she swore to protect leaves Violet with no choice.

Even worse, she fears that this might all lead back to the night she tries hardest to forget. And what was taken without her permission.

Violet is going back to New York ... and she knows exactly who is going to be there.

With Phoenix in her dreams and Lincoln in her heart she knows it is only a matter of time before the final choice must be made.

My Thoughts:

When EMPOWER made it's way to my audiobook library I think I did a happy dance for a few good minutes when I realized that I was precious listening time and immediately got to business.

No sooner did I begin reading EMPOWER and my head was already swimming with action packed scenes and the new existence that Violet has now lives. My heart broke for her and her determined isolation of over two years then everything changes as an unexpected event thrusts her back into the world that she ran away from. I was more than tense at the expected "first encounter" with Lincoln. Heck! I was hopping in my chair just waiting for that moment and then.....nope not going to tell you, I could not deny you the experience of that moment.

What I will say is that this return encounter for Violet starts a journey that will begin the battle for all good and that will come to a head in it's final show down in the city of New Orleans. Old beloved characters return with much loved laughter and familial comfort with a few new characters that quickly take root in your heat. The tension that frantically builds in this book will runeth over and you will be amazed at how emotionally uplifted and drained that you will become when all is said and done.

It is always bittersweet to say goodbye to a well liked series. Yet, I feel that EMPOWER ended on a great note. Yes, some characters do not survive the epic battle and many may not agree with whom Violet ends up with (but honestly was there really a question about that?), but I could not have asked for a better finale.  Jessica Shirvington did an amazing job of keeping me glued to my book and I could not stop until the very end. (sniff sniff)

Fans of the Violet Eden series are sure to enjoy EMPOWER and relish in the delicious book candy that it truly is. Now, I cannot wait for what Jessica Shirvington has in store for us next, more bad ass angel fighters please :)
