Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

Haley's Thoughts:

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is definitely going to be the hottest book on the shelf. Everyone's going to talking about Holly Black's incredible power at writing a story so perfect it seems real. It's very likely to become as popular as Twilight (if not more)

The coldest girl in Coletown is a nice break from the usual vampire love or apocalyptic type story. Forget the zombie apocalypse vampires are the ones who will rule. And honestly, who wouldn't rather have the world run by vampires then by zombies? At least, mostly, still alive! In this world you are willing to die to be immortal or die to save your mortality.

Holly Black creates new Vampire lore by creating new way to change. Rather than the traditional be bitten by a vampire and changed or drink another vampires blood you actually have a chance to choose mortality or in mortality. The idea is simple, when you're bitten you become infected a.k.a. cold. Once you're cold you can either 1. Lock yourself in the basement and hope to sweat out the infection 2. Be sent to a coldtown were you may change or die or 3. Drink the blood of an uninfected human to complete the change.

Most people think it gifts to be bitten and become cold.....otgees do not. What will you choose?

  5. This was a really great book, I had been anticipating it for a while! And while most of it did live up to the hype, there were points in the middle of the book that just seemed to be repetitive or actually at a stale mate, but once you get over that hump that action is great!
