THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE CURSED Blog Tour (The Dispossessed #1) by Page Morgan + Giveaway!

I am participant in The Beautiful and the Cursed blog tour and today I will be interviewing Gabriella one of the main characters of this story. She has had a bit a rough time lately, that with a missing brother and some forbidden training sessions. Yet, she has graciously agreed to be interviewed by me. I am very happy to have her here as part of this tour. So, please stay a bit and get to know this fascinating character a bit better and enter in some awesome contest opportunities.

Hello Gabriella and thank you for granting me this lovely interview. Please take a seat and get comfortable then have some tea and let's begin.

RR:   Gabriella, my readers are always eager to find out about new characters. Can you please tell us a bit about yourself.

Gabriella: It’s lovely to make your acquaintance, Nancy. It’s odd, really. When I was in London I was perfectly content to allow things like balls and dresses and suitable young prospects to consume my thoughts. Though now that I’ve come to Paris and know about the Alliance and Dispossessed, all that seems silly and unimportant. I suppose I want to do something more—be something more. For one, I’m seriously contemplating joining the Alliance to be a demon hunter. Don’t tell my mother!

RR:  I know that you and Ingrid are desperate to find your missing brother Grayson, but what do you think about Paris so far?

Gabriella: I’ve been far too preoccupied to do any of the shopping and touring I’d planned. But as for the abbey and rectory where we’re living, it’s simply ghastly! It’s like something straight out of The Castle of Otranto or one of Radcliffe’s novels. It couldn’t be more exciting!

RR:    Grayson and Ingrid have a very strong bond that transcends all logic, how does that make you feel?

Gabriella: Of course, they are twins so it makes sense that they would be close. I suppose I do feel a little left out sometimes. I actually used to wish I had my own twin so that I might not feel so lonely. However, ever since coming to Paris I feel as if Ingrid and I are growing closer. We have to stick together if we’re going to find Grayson and bring him home.

RR: Gargoyles?  How do you feel about them, considering what you now know?

Gabriella:  I still can’t stand those stone statues all along the abbey—they’re just so ugly!—but now that I know what they are and what they do, I’m most definitely intrigued. I’m slightly more wary of Luc than Ingrid seems to be, but perhaps that is only because he’s saved her life a few times. We shall see. Perhaps Nolan’s cautiousness with the Dispossessed is rubbing off on me, but I don’t think I’ll let my guard down with any gargoyle that is not bound to protect me.

RR:   Nolan seems to be quite an intriguing character; smart, handsome, a great accent and deadly lethal. What do you think about him?

Gabriella: He’s infuriating! If not for all those attributes you just mentioned, I’m sure I wouldn’t give him the time of day. I’ve never met anyone who irked me more than Nolan Quinn. Of course, no one has ever challenged me the way he does either. I admit, Nolan is growing on me.

RR: Gabriella, what do you enjoy most about your training sessions?

Gabriella: You mean besides learning a completely taboo skill for a proper young Englishwoman? I enjoy learning how to move about with a sword or blade. It’s like a very dangerous dance where the steps are always changing. I suppose I like having a purpose, as well.

RR: How do you feel about Grayson and his Rakish ways?
Gabriella: Oh, I know he’s charming and handsome and yes, the young ladies and their mamas in London were fawning over him something wicked, but Grayson isn’t truly a rake. I think it’s just a phase. Isn’t it awful that boys can get away with such shenanigans while girls cannot?

RR: What future adventures can we look forward to once Grayson is found and returned home?
Gabriella:  More training for the Alliance of course, even though Nolan’s father comes into the picture and disapproves of me immediately. Ingrid has her hands full with another demon threat—something called a “mimic”—and with Luc and Vander vying for her attentions. And Grayson…well he doesn’t come out of the Underneath unscathed, I’ll say that much.

Gabriella, Thank you, for spending some time with me and my readers. I know that you are extremely busy, so I will not take up any more of your time. Please send my regards to everyone back at the Abbey and I hope to see you again sometime soon.

After a bizarre accident, Ingrid Waverly is forced to leave London with her mother and younger sister, Gabby, trading a world full of fancy dresses and society events for the unfamiliar city of Paris.

In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house Ingrid’s twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn’t a house at all. It’s an abandoned abbey, its roof lined with stone gargoyles that could almost be mistaken for living, breathing creatures.
And Grayson has gone missing.

No one seems to know of his whereabouts but Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant at their new home.

Ingrid is sure her twin isn’t dead—she can feel it deep in her soul—but she knows he’s in grave danger. It will be up to her and Gabby to navigate the twisted path to Grayson, a path that will lead Ingrid on a discovery of dark secrets and otherworldly truths. And she’ll learn that once they are uncovered, they can never again be buried.
My Thoughts: I found THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE CURSED to be an adventurous read that is  full of mystery, romance, beautiful and some frightening creatures that make you want to stay inside at night for different reasons.

Once I began reading this story I was immediately intrigued, swept in by the pulse pounding mystery and gorgeously detailed locations. Then as the story moves I became further intrigued by the missing brother and the tenacity of his two remaining sisters that would stop at nothing to find him....until the Gargoyles. Once their presence came into the story then everything seemed to changed for me. If I had been intrigued by the story before then now I was completely engaged and besotted with some stone beasts that I would have never believed that I would ever fall for. Just goes to show you that a fantastic author can make me pine for anyone, be it a sparkly vampire or gargoyle with attitude, but I digress.

Just when I think I know where this story is going and I am convinced of the possible outcome the storyline then flips on me and I am left stunned and utterly happy in equal measure. Yet, I had no time to deeply ponder this revelation because the story revs up at that point and it becomes so intense and magical that I could not stop until the very last word was finished.

Page Morgan did a fantastic job of created a new and fascinating world that completely takes you into its clutches and holds you there. THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE CURSED is dark and original, unlike anything I have read before and I cannot wait for more, Luc and Nolan especially. Talk about hawtness personified.

If you enjoy a darker read that is set in one of the most romantic cities in the world while being equally terrifying then you need to read this book.

About Page Morgan:
PAGE MORGAN has been fascinated with les grotesques ever since she came across an old, black-and-white photograph of a Notre Dame gargoyle keeping watch over the city of Paris. The gargoyle mythologies she went on to research fed her imagination, and she became inspired to piece together her own story and mythology for these remarkably complex stone figures. Page lives in New Hampshire with her husband and their three children.
