it's almost

time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

My Thoughts:

Oh My Sweet Goodness! What just happened to me? It was a day like any other, one afternoon that I set aside to finally read a long awaited book. That book was UNRAVEL ME by Tahereh Mafi and days have passed and I am still swaddled in the afterglow of her words.

I will be the first to admit that SHATTER ME had captured my interest and had me wholly engaged with it's beautiful writing and terrifying plot. It hosted a villain unlike anyone else and I was mesmerized every time he came onto the page. Then as this unique storyline unfolded before me and certain factors came into play I felt as if the story was headed in a direction reminiscent of a popular movie franchise. It was then that I had conflicted emotions about this series and how it would progress with it's next novel. I am happy to report that I had NOTHING to worry about, because UNRAVEL ME surpassed it's predecessor in such a way that I cannot help but want to read it again and again.

UNRAVEL ME is a book that is loaded with unimaginable plot twists and turns, riveting action and at it's core a love triangle that is to delicious to not indulge in. Tahereh Mafi has done an excellent job with this novel. Each word selected is weighed and measured for that deliberate effect and I am convinced that she specifically wants to leave me breathless, grasping to get control of my feelings as I try to reign it all in. Yet, the myriad of emotions elicited by reading this book are too overwhelming, too real and my chest constricts as I replay certain passages in my mind and those feelings of anger, heartbreak, loneliness and passion come crashing back and I am lost in waves of those moments. Wholly spent yet wanting more.

For fans of the SHATTER ME series, UNRAVEL ME is a must read. The romance is kicked up a notch (YES!) the action intense and the storyline will completely own you right up until the very end and you will become unraveled but it all but it will be totally worth it.

My favorite book scene:

"I want so many things," he whispers. "I want your mind. Your strength. I want to be worth your time." His fingers graze the hem of my top and he says " I want this up." He tugs on the waist of my pants and says "I want these down" He touches the tips of his fingers to the sides of my body and says, "I want to feel our skin on fire. I want to feel your heart racing next to mine and I want to know it's racing because of me, because you want me. Because you never." he says, he breathes, "never want me to stop. I want every second. Every inch of you. I want all of it."
If that does not get you to reading this book, I don't know what will.

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
