If fate sent you an email, would you answer?

When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O'Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.

Then Graham finds out that Ellie's Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media's spotlight at all costs?
My Thoughts:
THIS IS WHAT HAPPY LOOKS LIKE by Jennifer E. Smith is perfect read for lovers of  great romantic comedies. Jennifer has proven with her previous novel THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY of LOVE at FIRST SIGHT that she knows how to weave a story that is filled with romance, wit and chance encounters and now her current novel will make you "fall" in love all over again.

Practically everyone has an email account nowadays and we receive countless daily emails. Now imagine receiving an incorrect email and responding to it AND continuing with correspondence for months. Yet, that is precisely what happens between Graham Larkin and Ellie O'Neill and right from the start there is an instant connection. I adored how their emails displayed the witty banter between them and how their relationship slowly blossomed even though they never exchanged pertinent information about one another. It provided for some much anticipated reading especially knowing that Graham is a famous teen actor and Ellie has now clue that is whom she has been chatting with for months. Then things get kicked up a notch when Graham begins filming a new movie in Ellie's home town as he earnestly tries to pursue their relationship face to face. What happens next is in true romantic comedic style with mix ups and missed moments and then a reveal of sorts that will completely melt your heart.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPY LOOKS LIKE has a great romantic duo with Graham and Ellie that reminds me of of the movie Notting Hill. The movie star and the regular girl love story is the stuff that all romantic dreams are made of and I could not help but fall for Graham. Despite being famous he has a good head on his shoulders and is genuine.  He is a boy that misses how close his family used to be while being a teen heartthrob. Ellie and her mom have lead a quiet existence hidden away from someone that could cause them harm and she longs for is to stay hidden away. Yet, a public relationship with Graham could ruin everything she has tried to avoid while making her the happiest person alive, why does love have to be so hard?

Jennifer E. Smith has done a fantastic job with THIS IS WHAT HAPPY LOOKS LIKE and it will make you smile from ear to ear because she knows how to create a story that is truly sweet while filled with the right amount of romantic tension and mystery. This book is a must read for those seeking a bit of romance and it is perfect for adults and teens alike.
