SWEET EVIL Read-a-Long: HALLOWEEN

Thank you for joining me today for week three of the Sweet Evil Read-A-Long hosted by the most awesome Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads and co-hosted by myself and Tara from Taters Tall Tales, Rachel from Fiktshun and Jaime from Two Chicks on Books.

This is the final week of the Read-a-long and we will be reading chapters 26-31. The topic of discussion for this week is Halloween. I hope that all of you had a great time reading SWEET EVIL along with us, for it is a really great book with a plethora of memorable characters and a storyline that is smart, unique and wicked.

Before I proceed I will give you my favorite bit in these last few chapters.

" He led me by the little finger, weaving between people until we ducked down a set of narrow stairs into a dark cellar doorway, hidden by the shadows. Euphoria exploded inside me at our nearness.

His mouth found min in the dark, fiery and rough. I gave a tiny whimper before melting into him and pulling his face down to mine even harder.  In that kiss we spoke all of the things we couldn't say.  He kissed me with an urgency born of some strong, unstable emotion: fury. I tried to imagine the nature of that feeling. Was he angry because of how I made him feel? Angry that he was powerless to change tonight's outcome? I didn't know, but I welcomed it. I wanted any emotion from Kai that he was willing to share.

I needed this kiss. I needed this last moment of feeling alive. My body pushed against his, thanking him, memorizing him. His hands roamed roughly down my back and over my hips, yanking me closer, tighter."
Why is it suddenly hot around here...ummm...let's proceed.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only do I get to dress up, hello....love doing that, but I also get to gorge on candy, watch scary movies and just feel like a kid again. What is not to love? I must admit that out of all of them dressing up is my favorite part of Halloween so I will share that love with you.

Here are some of the many costumes I have worn over the years. As you can tell I really, really love to dress up  Do you dress up for Halloween also?

These are my literary inspired costumes
This was my Volturi Vampire costume.

Here I am Effie Trinket style

Now these are my fun costumes
Princess Blue

Me as a punk raggedy Ann with Nemo

As you can see my costumes are not of the norm

This is in honor of American Horror Story season 2

Me as Foxy Cleopatra. This wig was no joke. It was huge.

Now my Steampunk look

As you have witnessed I love dressing up for Halloween. I wonder if it is just me? I hope you enjoyed my little bit of show and tell. It was great fun and I hope you have a safe and happy Halloween.

Make sure to enter in the SWEET EVIL contest and I am glad that you joined us on our adventures.

  1. Those red eyes look freaking real, and scary. I love it!
That was one of my favorite scene in the book, and you can just feel that Kaiden really has feelings for Anna. Overall, I liked SW but I'm not a Kaiden fan yet. Can't wait to read Sweet Peril.

  4. Wow, you have had some amazing costumes!!! I love your Volturi look! I could never wear those contacts. Looks sooo wicked though!!! :D

I grew up in Germany and we didn't have Halloween when I was a kid. My mom told me a few kids have been coming to her door the last few years, but it's nothing compared to the States or Canada. Now that I'm living in Canada and have a little man, I get to experience trick-or-treating with/through him. :)

  5. I haven't tried attending costumes party ever! We don't celebrate Halloween in my location the same way you do. I wish there are more parties like that in here.

  7. I love dressing up! Those Volturi contacts look awesome! I wanted to do something like that but I have never worn contacts so I'm not sure I will be able to get them in! lol American Horror Story Asylum has been freaking crazy! I've dressed up as the grim reaper, nurse, fire woman, gladiator, french maid, and vampire. I'm not that creative. I usually just buy my costumes because when I was little I never could. I am not good at making my own and always had horrible ones as a kid.
