Embrace the Forbidden.
What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?
SWEET EVIL by Wendy Higgins is the sleeper hit of the year. An amazing read that took me by surprise because of it's exceptional storyline and delivery. I cannot give enough praises for this book and hope that everyone has the chance to read and enjoy this sweet read.
With SWEET EVIL I am instantly intrigued despite my initial perception of it being a typical forbidden teen romance, but that concept is quickly dispelled as the storyline moves from tension filled flirtation to a reality where sin reigns supreme.
This well driven story begins with Anna Whitt being brought into this world in a most peculiar setting (at this point I am hooked) then flash forward sixteen years and Anna seems to be the most normal of teens, sweet, kind and with the ability to read emotions on others. An unusual ability she can manage until she meets Kaidan Rowe and her world is literally thrown off axis. As much as Anna tries to avoid him, fate ultimately throws them together and they embark on a journey that will forever change her life. Yet, where you think this story would end it is only the beginning as Anna learns of her true nature.
I have to commend Wendy Higgins in creating a world that is so fresh and intoxicating while being equally terrifying, while hosting great characters that are super entertaining, and a story that unfolds with some surprising twists. The fast pace of this story was complemented by the slow building romance in the first half of this book then by the well visualized society of sin that I found so intriguing. I adore that a book can completely entertain me and I am kicking myself for not having read this book months ago when my dear blogging buddies recommend that I do so. Next time, I will listen sooner.
I highly recommend SWEET EVIL to anyone that wants a bit of adventure mixed in with a dose of forbidden romance and a wicked world of sin.
