To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.

My Thoughts:

When I initally read Firelight I was not very taken with the novel but I was intrigued enough to want to continue with the series and read VANISH. I am pleased to say that I found this novel to have enough action packed scenes and plot twists to surpass it's predecessor .

VANISH begins directly after Firelight ends with Jacinda going back home to the Pride with Cassian and her family in tow. Although she does not regret the actions that exposed her to hunters, it makes her sick having to return home knowing how much her mother sacrificed to keep them away. Yet, Jacinda does not have the luxury of time to dwell on it before her life takes an unexpected turn and it appears as if she will never have the chance to leave her Pride and find Will, the one she loves and cannot forget. Will love prevale? Only time will tell.

What I like most about this book is the non stop roller coaster ride on my emotions. I would jump from heart stopping surprise to seething anger and onto breathless romance in a matter of moments and it kept me going until the very last page. The new plot twists were unexpected and flowed well into the story and now I cannot wait to see what happens next. The only complaint I have with this story is the over-played romantic tug of war between Will, Cassian and Jacinda. Don't get me wrong I am a sucker for romance, always have been and always will be...BUT I have my limits.
