We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be forgotten.

Charlotte's best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she's cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what's really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth who feels the Need—a powerful,
uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her
best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become—her mark on this earth, her very existence—is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.

Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny—no matter how dark the consequences?

My Thoughts

I am a fan of Suzanne Young's work and when I read about her upcoming novel, A Need So Beautiful I knew that I would not rest until I had it in my hands. And now that I have read the wonder that is this amazing book all I can think is "WOW" This book is positively amazing.

As this story opens you get to know Charlotte; an ordinary high school girl, best friends with a girl that considers shopping a sport, in love with her boy friend, and consumed by powerful urges that draws her to strangers. These urges that Charlotte experiences have progressed in frequency and now it cripples her daily life. Yet, instead of having a better idea of why or what she is, Charlotte finds herself plagued with more questions then answers. Then an unlikely source provides her with the information she desires but the truth of her "gift" is too much to bear and she is left tempted by another that can only lead her into darkness.

I am the big fan of paranormal stories and when one is as original and memorable as A Need So Beautiful I feel it is my duty to tell everyone about it. (YOU MUST GET THIS BOOK) Suzanne Young has penned an original, passionate and heart breaking novel that will make you slobbering mess. You will adore Charlotte as you witness her struggle with her need and how she longs to live and be remembered by her loved ones. I could not fathom what she is going through and can sympathize with her efforts on trying to remain unchanged.

I do not feel that I am giving this book it's due justice, just know that once you begin reading you cannot stop and a bit of tissue and some time alone while reading this book is not a bad thing to consider. A Need So Beautiful Is the perfect combination of romance, mystery and imagination that will leave you thinking about long after the last pages is read. A must read for 2011

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
