In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity. When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent. Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again. In this incandescent debut, newcomer Amy Plum has created a powerful paranormal mythology with immortal revenants. The Paris setting comes enchantingly alive as a relentless struggle between good and evil takes place in its streets. Rich with romance, atmosphere, and thrills, Die for Me will leave readers breathlessly awaiting its sequel.
MY THOUGHTS

Amy Plum's debut novel, DIE FOR ME is a sumptuous paranormal read that has all the perfect elements for romantic intrigue and adventure. This story will quickly grab hold of you, take over your senses and will leave you breathless and pining for more.

Set among the beautiful backdrop of Paris, DIE FOR ME focuses on a winsome and strong willed Kate Mercier. She and her sister Georgia move to Paris shortly after the death of their parents and are now staying with their grandparents. Georgia moves on in her own way by hanging out with whomever is best suited for her wild ways while Kate is reclusive and withdrawn. After a while Kate finally ventures into Paris and soon she encounters Vincent, a boy unlike anyone she has ever seen before. It is not long before a relationship blooms, but Vincent has a secret destiny and Kate will have to choose if he is worth the risk to her already fragile heart.

I was immediately taken in by this lush story and it's winsome characters, especially Vincent *sigh* because after reading this all the girls will want a boyfriend like him. He is beautiful inside and out and oh so romantic. My heart would contract erratically whenever he would express his true emotions and call Kate by his special endearment. Together they make a great romantic duo that flirts on the edge of sappy without making you want to hurl.

DIE FOR ME is unlike any book that I have read in this genre for it hosts a brethren of warriors, aptly named the Revenants, that are quite unique and extremely charismatic. And, despite their world being well communicated and detailed the aire of mystery still envelops them, creating an ambiance that is all their own. This revelation is one of the reasons that the story worked so well for me. I appreciated the intrigue and how once the big reveal came out that it appeared to flow seamlessly within the storyline, giving it credibility.

I highly recommend DIE FOR ME to anyone that enjoys a great Paranormal Romance read. It is seductive and filled with a mystery that you are not soon to forget. It is a story that I believe could be a great stand alone but am relieved that their will be two more sequels added and believe me you will be wanting more.
