My Thoughts

Holy Shiznit, Batman!! I just finished this novel and I cannot believe how much my mind is still spinning. I am left speechless by the awesomeness that is Cassandra Clare. I will be the first to admit that I was none to happy at the news that my favorite series was continuing on. I was completely happy with how everything tied up in City of Glass and believed that delving back into this world would only bring on the pain. Clearly I was correct, but it is a pain that is well received and welcomed because to enter back into this unforgettable world is worth at least as much.

City of Fallen Angels commences six weeks after City of Glass had ended. As we left that world we believed that all would be ok, a happy ending so to speak but things could not be farther from the truth. Simon is a vampire with extrodinary powers and no legience to any vampire clan which makes him a viable commodity that everyone wants including the two girlfriends in his life that he cannot seem to make a clear choice on. Characters that previously graced these stories are now becoming a more important piece in this trilogy and I am very intrigued to see how things will play out. Jace and Clary are together but a dark shadow has fallen upon our favorite couple and you will be shocked, nay speechless at what happens with this duo. (sorry, no more on that...I don't want to spoil things)

As I was reading City of Fallen Angels I could not get through this story fast enough. I was devouring each page with an urgency that was frightening and now that the $***bombs of all WTF's have been experienced I am left stunned and a wreck. This story has it all and then some, and every time I began to recover from a big reveal another would get heaped on and I would be left amazed. To top it off I have to wait another year to find out what happens next. Are you kidding me? GAHHHH! The torture is just going to do me in.

I love this series and this book is earned a special place in my heart because this story is..simply put AMAZING. Cassandra Clare outdid herself by returning to this world and creating new storylines and adding depth and color to characters that I believed to have known as well as the back of my hand. I was pleasantly suprised while being shocked at how this story played out before my very eyes and I want to read it all over again.

  1. I was so upset when it was announced the series would be continuing, but after your review, I'm actually really looking forward to reading this! I gotta get my hands on a copy, it sounds amazing. Thanks for the review :).

  2. I'm so excited for this book I can hardly stand it. haha I've been hooked on Cassandra Clare since I read CITY OF BONES over my best friend's shoulder while we were on a plane to South America. Seriously, her books are fantabulous. I'm still waiting to get my hands on CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS, and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  3. I too, could not get through the series fast enough. I was sad that I had to go to work. I was nervous that it wouldn't hold it's own wait to the other three, but it did. I am looking at it like it is the first in a new series, setting us up for another great two...again!

  4. Cassandra Clare is fantastic ! I thought this book will be the book of too much but in fact she's got plenty to make suffering her poor characters. I still love this shadowhunter world and I hope the sequel will be as good as CoFA but I'm sure it will be.
Did you read Clockwork Angel ?
