Teen Event: Suzanne Collins

Wednesday, November 3, 7:00 p.m.

Mockingjay Event: Keplers's is incredibly excited to welcome Suzanne Collins to sign her newest book in the Hunger Games trilogy!

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry and wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either.

Suzanne Collins has written THE perfect ending to the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay is an all-action, politically-charged, bloody, heartbreaking rollercoaster of a book that promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

Do you have your ticket for the signing line?

When Suzanne Collins comes to Kepler’s you will need a ticket to get into the signing line. And you get a ticket when you buy a copy of Mockingjay from us. It’s as simple as that. Your ticket will give you a place in line to meet and get your book signed* by Suzanne Collins, who was named among the 2010 TIME 100 Most Influential People.

*Please note: Due to an existing hand strain, rather than signing books, Suzanne Collins will stamp each book with a custom-made stamp created exclusively for 2010 Mockingjay events. This stamp will be used only on this book tour. There will be no actual signing at this event and she will not be able to personalize any books.

MOCKINGJAY EVENT AT HICKLEBEE'S

11/04/2010 7:00 pm
11/04/2010 8:30 pm

Katniss has been lurking at the edge of our minds since meeting her in Hunger Games. We are thrilled to be working with Scholastic books to create Suzanne Collins event at Hicklebee's that will include as many of her fans as possible!

Guidelines for her visit have just arrived. These have resulted in successful events across the country regardless of the size of the crowd.

We will begin handing out numbers for a place in the signing line at 6:00 P.M. (People who pre-ordered Mockingjay before 8/24/2010 with us should already have a number.)

At 7:00, Suzanne Collins will give a brief reading.

Due to an existing hand strain, rather than signing books, she will stamp ONE book per customer and will not be able to personalize any books. The custom-made stamp has been created exclusively for her 2010 Mockingjay tour and will be retired at the end of her tour.

If you'd like to take a photograph, please do, but in the interest of time we request you do not "pose" with Suzanne Collins. Have a friend snap it while she is stamping your book. Audio or video recordings of Ms. Collins are not permitted by request of the author and publisher.

  1. Wait, first they want you to buy the book you probably already own anyway to go to a signing where there is no signing but a stamp put in your book? I mean, I understand it if Suzanne has problems with her hand and a stamp is fine but not under those circumstances. Fail!

  2. Both of these book stores had these events posted prior to the release of MOCKINGJAY. I purchased my books from both stores. It does sadden me that the "signing" is actually a stamping. LOL. Yet, it is an opportunity that I would not miss simply because she is not hand writing her own signature.

  3. Okay, that seems to make a little more sense :)
I hope she does a little reading at both events, too. Else it would be a bit boring to just stand in line to get a stamp in your book ;P

We would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
