If you had to choose between Heaven and Hell, which would it be?

Are you sure about that...?

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a wicked streak. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance--even her closest friends--and it seems her senior year will be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him. What she doesn't know is that Luc works in Acquisitions--for Hell--and she possesses a unique skill set that has the king of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he's as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn't stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn't get what he came for. And it isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay...for all of them.

Upon reading the synopsis for PERSONAL DEMONS I knew that I wanted to read it because it had certain elements that I enjoy in a book: the battle between good and evil, otherwordly hot boys, mystery and an ordinary girl (well..not so ordinary) that is oblivious to all the danger surrounding her. So, you can see how I found this story hard to resist and devoured it once I got it into my waiting hands.

Yet, as I began PERSONAL DEMONS I had a difficult time associating with Frannie for I felt her development was a bit anemic and I did not want to invest in her future. Then as the story progressed I felt my feeling slightly shift because Frannie's power is unique and I am eager to see how her "gift" is ultimately used and what it will mean for everyone involved, good or evil. On the other hand, Luc proved to be the character that I enjoyed seeing the most 0n the the pages. I liked witnessing his journey and how he struggled with his baser insticts. He had a wicked side, and of course he would for he was the soul wrangler from hell but once he began his pursuit of Frannie's soul it was not long before his feelings for her thwarted his mission and he was left a changed being. His character overhaul worked wonderfully with the story line and became totally believable. As for Gabe, I felt that he was somehow incomplete because I did not get see his POV as I had with the other two main characters. Although I can understand the why's of that concept due to how the story progressed, I still would have preferred witnessing his POV.

I feel that the story concept for PERSONAL DEMONS is unlike anything that I have read before because it has some wickedly charged moments that are breath catching and truly entertaining while keeping you on the edge of your seat. It is a good start to a new series. A story between Heaven and Hell and how they both want a certain girl, you will find yourself tempted by both sides: good and evil, and never feel so conflicted in your life. Which side would you choose?
